Europaediatrics 2009, the European Congress of paediatricians, was held in Moscow from the 3rd to the 6th of July, 2009, for the first time in the Russian history. Over 3,000 leading scientists, medical doctors, organizers of children's public health services from Russia and the European countries took part in the Congress. Besides European experts, representatives of the American Academy of Pediatrics, professional associations of paediatricians from China, India and the countries of Latin America attended the Congress for the first time.
The social events of the Congress (Opening Ceremony, Gala Dinner, etc.) were held in the most famous historical and cultural places ("Manezh", Moscow International Performing Art Center etc.) President of Russian Federation Dm. Medvedev made his Welcome Address to the delegates of the 4th Europaediatrics. Minister of Healthcare of Russian Federation T. Golikova and Major of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov expressed their greetings to the participants and wished the 4th Europaediatrics to be a great success.
The scientific part of the Congress took place in the World Trade Center.
During Europaediatrics, an international medical exhibition of the newest medical equipment, medicines, means of hygiene, children's nutrition of leading foreign and local companies was organised.
The phrase offered by the Russian paediatricians -"East and West, North and South: Balanced paediatric care in Europe" became the motto of the Moscow Europaediatrics 2009.
